Robin Aire ( @ 248-380-1857 ) is our preferred AC vendor and we have made sure that their staff is familiar with our roof. Any damages caused by a vendor or owner are the responsibility of that owner. If damage does occur, we will reach out to one of our roofing contractors, Duro Last or Esko, to assess the damage and provide a quote for the damages to be charged to the unit owner.

One of the biggest investments that we need to protect here is the roof of our building – a Duro Last roof. This type of roof is a relatively fragile thin plastic membrane, but it lasts a long time if treated properly.  Our AC units are installed on the roof and occasional access may be required for maintenance or service – especially given the age of the units. We need to make sure that anyone needing access to the roof (owners, AC Vendors, etc.) is familiar with our ROOF ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS (please refer to Roof Access page) and that appropriate precautions are taken to avoid damage to the roof.A printed copy of the Roof Access log, along with the Roof Access Instructions and a map of the AC units, is hung on the ladder going to the roof. After reading the instructions, this log must be filled out and signed by the owner and the vendor for every appointment that requires roof access. A HGLCA Board member must also be present and sign the log if our preferred vendor is not used.
